Untitled (Leftovers)

Untitled (Leftovers) tracks the ghosts objects carry through intimate interactions. The sculpture, a fragment of an 18th-century rocking chair, is cast in scagliola - a plaster marbling technique. Evoking relics of antiquity, the work garners new awareness around familiar details. Moments of anxiety and contemplation ingrained into the original chair through a person’s tic are echoed in this iteration. The buildup of these moments shows the marks we make and leave through quiet actions, reminding us of the transformative power of attention.
